Player Information

Required Uniform and Equipment for Players

Uniform

All players MUST wear:

  1. Issued jersey (tucked into shorts) with the regulation size AYSO Logo on the front and regulation size number on the back. No other printing may appear on the uniform- including the player's name.

  2. Black shorts (Slider/Bike shorts must also be black).

  3. Issued socks, which must entirely cover the shin guards.

  4. Competition-style Shin Guards of a high impact material must be worn at all practices and games. Shin Guards must be the proper length - covering the shin from the bottom of the knee to the top of the ankle.

Soccer Shoes are optional, but highly recommended. Soccer shoes must have rounded cleats with a flat head. NO toe cleats. Cleats must be made of molded rubber, polyurethane, or plastic. If the cleat is removable, the screw must be on the cleat.

A player should not wear anything which is dangerous to another player or themselves. All casts and splints are prohibited in all AYSO practices and games. Padded knee braces are acceptable. No jewelry is allowed - including starter earrings.

Additional clothing such as shirts, sweats and jackets must be worn under the uniform. Hooded items must have the hood tucked in for safety reasons.

It is the coach's responsibility to see that all his players are wearing the required uniform and equipment BEFORE the referee does the pre-game inspection.

Proper Size Ball

All players should have a soccer ball for use in practices. It doesn't have to be an expensive leather ball.
